About the Company: NISsport was created to further the development of the Nissan Sentra SE-R and NX2000 into competitive race cars in the Sports Car Club of America's Improved Touring S class. It is owned by three SE-R owners and racers. As we began developing our first Sentra SE-R racecar, we discovered two things. First we discovered that the Sentra SE-R has the potential to be competitive in ITS. Second we discovered that no one was making many of the components we would need to build a competitive car. Thus began the seed that grew to become NISsport. Our focus is racing, and mostly, but not entirely, SCCA ITS racing. Some of the components we offer are not legal in ITS, but they have racing application for other series, such as the NASA SE-R Cup series which has more liberal preparation rules. All of our components are designed for racing purposes only. About the owners: Bruce Hearn: Bruce owns a 1994 Sentra SE-R that he campaigned in SCCA autocrossing until he purchased a suitable tow vehicle, at which time his SE-R saw the last of its street duties. Bruce is currently in the process of converting his SE-R into an ITS race car. Grover Pickering: Grover owns a 1992 Sentra SE-R that has been a race car all of its "life." It started out as a Showroom Stock B race car piloted by Rick Kulach. At the end of its Showroom Stock national eligibility, Rick moved on to a 300ZX race car and offered the car to Grover to make into an ITS race car. Grover has been campaigning the SE-R for the last 5 years. It has slowly been developed from near showroom stock preparation to become a respectable Improved Touring race car. At NISsport, we will continue to develop the car and as we develop new components for this car to build it into a top class ITS car, we will be offering these components to our customers. George Roffe: George owns a 1991 Sentra SE-R road car and a 1991 Infiniti G20 road car. George built a high output NA SR20DE engine for his Sentra SE-R (at the time one of two in the country) and he wrote an article for Sport Compact Car detailing the installation of an SR20DET engine in his G20. George currently races Grover's SE-R in ITS on occasion and is in the process of building a Porsche 944 for ITS. We will be offering development parts for the 944 as they become available also. |
